The RJB formed in 2003 is the inspiration of John Hockins.
John’s experience of playing “Classic Jazz” is founded
in the UK and the “revival” bands of the late 50’s &
60’s, Chris Barber, Acker Bilk, Kenny Ball and Humphry Lyttleton
who dominated the Traditional Jazz era in the UK. The confidence of the
band is growing rapidly with the personnel working with each other to
produce a sound with an English accent and a band that is ‘exciting’
and ‘swings’.

The band has just come back from hosting a five-day Classic
Jazz Cruise to Baja along with four hundred happy fans who made the trip
a memorable event. The next cruise is already being planned for February18th

The band performs regularly at the San Clemente Rotary Club
sponsored “Jazz Festival by the Sea”. The band opens the meeting
at the New Orleans Jazz Club of Southern California every 3rd Sunday of
each month as well as appearing as the feature band at other Jazz Clubs
of Southern California. |
